La mayor parte del disco es instrumental. La firma Elliot Goldenthal. Es tremandamente bella, de tonos barrocos y clásicos que la llevaron a ganar (a pulso) una nominación al Oscar en la edición de 1994. Este autor que ha conseguido otras BSOs de tonos oscuros como las de "Batman forever" y "Heat" consiguió hacer melodías tan dispares como la del armonioso clavicordio "Lestat recitative", "Madeleine's lament" o los temas principales "Born to darkness" hasta la que acompaña la vengaza de Louis, llena de fuerza. 

                  La canción principal es un tema de los Rollins Stones del que los Guns 'n Roses hacen una nueva versión. Desde luego "Sympathy for the devil" no podría ser menos adecuada en esta película y en el momento en que aparece: casi lleva a imaginar al mismísimo Lestat cantándola sobre el escenario.
